Charlotte, NC – Man Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Accident on I-485

Charlotte, NC (November 29, 2020) – Around 9 a.m. on Sunday, November 29, a man was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident in Charlotte.

According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, the accident took place on I-485 around the area of Benfield Road. A man, who has not yet been formally identified by police, was walking across the roadway when he was struck by a pickup truck in the far right lane.

Paramedics and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene of the accident. The pedestrian was pronounced dead due to severe injuries.

The driver of the pickup truck that struck the man remained at the scene of the accident to cooperate with the police. He was not injured.

No further details have been released but the investigation into the accident continues.
