Marshall, NC – School Bus Accident with Injuries on Big Pine Rd

Marshall, NC (May 5, 2021) – At 4 p.m. on the afternoon of Wednesday, May 5, a school bus accident occurred on a roadway in Marshall.

According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, the accident happened at 3000 Big Pine Road. The driver of a school bus was traveling in the area when they lost control, crashing into a creek off the side of the road. The bus then overturned in the creek.

Paramedics and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene. Two students were immediately transported to Mission Hospital for treatment of unknown injuries. The driver of the bus remained at the scene and was not injured.

The area was blocked until police were able to clear the scene.

The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
