Statesville, NC – Fatal Head-on Collision on Wilkesboro Hwy

Statesville, NC (April 8, 2021) – Around 11 a.m. on Wednesday morning, April 7, a fatal head-on collision occurred on a highway in Statesville.

According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, the accident happened at 5000 Wilkesboro Highway. Two vehicles collided head-on with each other in the area for reasons that are still under investigation.

Paramedics and numerous other local responders were dispatched to the scene. One person, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene. It is not yet known if any parties were injured as a result.

The roadway was completely closed down in the area until police cleared the scene.

The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
