Thomasville, NC – Deputy Injured in Car Crash at Cunningham Rd Intersection

Thomasville, NC (December 4, 2020) – Around 6 p.m. on Friday night, December 4, a deputy was injured in a car crash at an intersection in Thomasville.

According to authorities, a Davidson County deputy was sitting in his patrol cruiser on the side of the road with his emergency lights activated. He was near a live nativity scene in the area and was trying to deter individuals from speeding in the area.

Police confirmed that a vehicle ran through a stop sign at the intersection of Cunningham Road and Sullivan Road. The vehicle was sent crashing into the deputy’s vehicle.

The deputy was the only one injured as a result of the accident. He was rushed to the hospital but is expected to recover.

The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for some time.

No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
