Greensboro, NC (November 25, 2020) – Police confirmed that one person was charged for a fatal collision that took place on a Greensboro highway.
Police confirmed that the accident took place on I-85 in Greensboro when 21-year-old Mickey Jason Ruiz-Vivar was driving his Chevrolet Corvette and collided with a second vehicle for reasons that are still under investigation. He was ejected from his vehicle and landed on the roadway, where he was then struck by a tractor-trailer.
Paramedics were present at the scene of the accident where Ruiz-Vivar was pronounced dead at the scene.
The other driver, identified as 27-year-old Ryan Casey Donlon, was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries. He has since been charged with careless and reckless driving, as well as death by a motor vehicle. Police believe that the accident may have taken place due to road rage.
The driver of the tractor-trailer that struck Ruiz-Vivar was not injured but cooperated with police.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
