Salisbury, NC – Woman Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Accident on I-85

Salisbury, NC (December 31, 2020) – Around 5:15 a.m. on Thursday morning, December 31, a woman was killed in a fatal accident in Salisbury.

According to the State Highway Patrol, the accident took place in the northbound lanes of I-85 around the area of Julian Road. A woman’s vehicle became disabled, which is when she got out of her vehicle for help. A tractor-trailer in the area did not stop and struck the Buick and then the woman.

Paramedics were immediately dispatched to the scene of the accident. The woman was pronounced deceased as a result of severe trauma.

Even though the truck caught on fire, the driver was able to safely get out of his vehicle without harm.

The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
