Gastonia, NC (March 11, 2021) – On Wednesday night, March 10, a fatal moped hit-and-run accident took place on a major roadway in Gastonia.
According to Gaston County officials, the accident took place in the northbound lanes of US-321 when a passenger vehicle and a moped collided with one another. The moped was left with severe damages.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. Both people riding on the moped suffered severe trauma and were pronounced dead at the scene.
Due to the severity of the collision, the roadway was closed in the area of the accident for several hours.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
